RECEIPT OF NOTICE OF MEETING

1414 Degrees Limited ( Company ) (ASX:14D) advises that the Company has received a notice from Dr Kevin Moriarty purporting to convene a general meeting of members pursuant to rule 12.2 of the Company's Constitution.

Dr Moriarty's notice seeks to convene a general meeting on Monday 30 August 2021 for the purpose of passing resolutions:

  • to remove Mr Peter Gan and Mr Dana Larson as Directors of the Company pursuant to rule 3.10(a)(i) of the Constitution; and

  • to elect Mr Randolph Bowen and Mr Ian Ross Burdon, nominated by Focem Pty Ltd as trustee of the Towarnie Superannuation Fund (being a member of the Company which is associated with Dr Moriarty) to the Board pursuant to rule 3.5(a)(iii) of the Constitution.

The Company is currently taking legal advice in relation to the notice and will keep shareholders advised of any material developments, including in relation to the date of any proposed general meeting. Further information about the nominees for election will be provided in any notice of meeting.

ABOUT 1414 DEGREES LIMITED

1414 Degrees is developing and commercialising its silicon-based thermal energy storage technology, SiBox™, to enable a clean energy future. The Company’s vision is to harness the extremely high latent heat capacity of silicon and firm intermittent renewables to provide ultrahigh temperature heat 24/7 for large industrial applications, and energy storage to deliver reliable electricity.

The Company plans to commission a demonstration module of the SiBox™ technology in 2022 which will accelerate the commercialisation of SiBox™ as a competitive clean energy product. The Company has previously implemented pilots which have led to the refinement and evolution of its technology.

In 2019 the Company made the strategic purchase of the Aurora Energy Project (AEP) located near Port Augusta, South Australia. The immediate focus of the project is to develop a hybrid power plant to generate revenues for 1414 Degrees to further develop its core SiBox™ technology. Once ready for commercialisation, the AEP site will allow 14D to pilot and demonstrate a grid-scale version of the SiBox™ technology.
