Paris, 22nd October 2008 – EuropaCorp, producer and distributor of feature films and one of Europe's leading independent film studios, and Glénat Editions, leading European independent comic book publishers, announce today the signing of a partnership agreement relating to the audiovisual adaptation rights for comic books published by Glénat.
EuropaCorp and Glénat Editions will each own 50% of a joint company which will manage the audiovisual adaptation rights for all current and future titles property of Glénat Editions.
With this agreement, EuropaCorp's expertise in managing audiovisual rights will help to develop the audiovisual potential in cinema and television of publications belonging to the Glénat catalogue (Vent d'Ouest, Drugstore...). EuropaCorp will have right of first refusal on the acquisition of the audiovisual adaptation rights for comic books managed by the joint company.
With this partnership agreement, Glénat accesses solid opportunities in the audiovisual and cinema world, and EuropaCorp consolidates its potential for development with projects based on bookshops successes. The production of these adaptations over time will help sustain the Group's growth.

Structured around the "vertically integrated studio" concept, its strategy aims to control each stage of the production-distribution cycle of its ambitious and varied films. Since the start of its activity in 1999, EuropaCorp has produced or co-produced 60 feature-length films.
