ROSENBAUER, the world leader in the special fire service vehicle sector, has signed a contract with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) worth some EUR 18.5 m for a total of 40 PANTHER 6x6 ARFF vehicles and the provision of crew training. The vehicles are to be supplied in phased partial deliveries to various Indian airports by the middle of 2010.

ROSENBAUER already received an order for PANTHER vehicles from the AAI in 2007 and at present, a total of 37 vehicles are in operation at the international airports in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Trivandrum and Nanded. The new order from the Airport Authority means that in future some 80 ROSENBAUER PANTHERS will be on the prowl in India.

The Sultanate of Oman strengthens its civil defence capability In the course of the consolidation of the civil defence capability of the Sultanate of Oman, the ROSENBAUER Group has received an order from the responsible organisation (Royal Oman Police/Civil Defence) for the supply of a total of 60 fire service vehicles worth some EUR 12.5 m. In addition, around 1,500 fire-fighters are to be equipped with ROSENBAUER's protective suits.

The purchasing of the new vehicles is aimed to bring after the cyclone disaster of 2007 the fire and disaster services in the Sultanate up to the very latest standard.

The order incorporates top quality small, rescue and breathing apparatus vehicles from Austrian production, as well as two turntable ladders from Metz Aerials in Karlsruhe. The delivery of the vehicles will be completed by mid-2009.

According to Julian Wagner, the ROSENBAUER Group President, "These recent successes confirm the outstanding position of the ROSENBAUER Group in the global market. With this excellent order situation, we are well equipped to deal with the coming months."
