The 2008 edition of the "Challenge des Maisons Innovantes" brought together nearly 400 professionals in Stockholm from 4 to 7 December 2008. This major national competition organised by the Union des Maisons Françaises rewards the most innovative houses from 50 projects presented by Constructors.
A real shop window for individual houses, this challenge aims to put forward advances and technical innovations, whilst taking the sector's challenges and preoccupations into account.
Once more this year, Maisons France Confort was distinguished by its creativity, its innovation and its ability to include constraints arising from energy saving and the environment in general. The Group thus obtained the Gold Medal in the "La Maison de Grenelle" environmental housing category.
During the event, Maisons France Confort presented its "Positive Energy" house. Situated close to Valence (Drome), this experimental house, which is unique in France, even in Europe, is distinguished by its insulation performance and revolutionary heating system, which generates excess electricity production (20 kwh/m2 year).
From a middle of the range house, with a regional architecture and particular attention to the environmental quality of the materials and their implementation, this realization allows a combination of high performance and innovative materials allowing low energy consumption and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
One of the innovations in this house, delivered last October, is in its heating system comprising an electricity-generating boiler, which, using a condensing boiler, allows electricity production by gas recovery.
The combination of this revolutionary boiler and exceptional structure thermal performance allows this house to produce more energy than it consumes, with the surplus being sold to the network.
