On Sunday, August 30th 2009, at 10.50pm (local time), an electrical defect caused a limited fire in an electric room at the CTBR1 power station on Reunion Island.
The two tranches of CTBR1, which have a combined capacity of 55MW, are unavailable. Full repair could take up to 3 weeks until the power station resumes operations.
The third tranche of CTBR, which has a capacity of 45MW, has not been affected by this incident and continues operations under normal conditions.
