At its meeting held today, the Supervisory Board of Rosenbauer International AG accepted the Executive Board´s proposal and set the agenda for the shape of the company´s future top management by appointing Dr. Dieter Siegel as a Member of the Executive Board from January 1, 2011.
Dieter Siegel will be succeeding Manfred Schwetz, who will be retiring as planned when his Executive Board employment contract expires at the end of September 2011, after 16 years as the Board member in charge of Sales. Manfred Schwetz has been instrumental in the company´s successful development, helping in his capacity as Board member in charge of Sales to turn Rosenbauer into the biggest exporter in the industry. By acquiring the stakes in the US companies, Manfred Schwetz also laid the foundation for Rosenbauer´s success story on the American market.
Dieter Siegel was born in Linz, Austria, on September 20, 1964 and studied Commercial Science at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. After a spell at the Austrian Institute for Industrial Research in Vienna, he moved to the Controlling Dept. of RHI AG, the world market leader for refractory products, where he most recently headed the company´s "Business Unit Steel Europe", overseeing annual sales of around 600 Mio Euro. Dieter Siegel thus has wide-ranging international experience in the industrial field, making him ideally equipped for his future duties.
He has been with Rosenbauer International AG since October 1, 2009, with responsibility for the business units Fire & Safety Equipment and Business Development. After Manfred Schwetz retires, Dieter Siegel will take on responsibility for the Specialty Vehicles business unit as well, which will also put him in charge of International Sales and Customer Service. In his capacity as a Member of the Supervisory Board, Dieter Siegel was already involved in the oversight of the Group´s business from 2002 to 2009, where as a member of the majority-owning Rosenbauer family he also pursued the long-termist strategy that distinguishes the company.
"By appointing Dieter Siegel to the Executive Board, we have pointed the way forward regarding the shape of the company´s top management, while ensuring its continuity", notes Supervisory Board Chairman Dr. Alfred Hutterer, commenting on today´s resolution.
