ACTIVITY AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2009:

• Activity increased by 2.6% at the end of September 2009 (as a result of acquisitions made at the start of the year).

On a like-for-like consolidation basis, activity decreased by 9.4%, (down 9.6% in France; down 8.9% abroad).

Idestyle Technologies, whose activity fell by around 70% in the first half, was deconsolidated at 1 st July 2009.

The activity would have decreased by 7.8% on a like-for-like consolidation without Idestyle Technologies.

• Activity stabilised in the third quarter of 2009 in all business sectors. The strict control over staff resources resulted in an improvement in the activity ratio up to 92% in the third quarter (versus 88.6% in the first half). Accordingly, at the end of September 2009, the activity ratio rose to 89.5%.

OUTLOOK FOR 2009

  • Even though activity is stabilising since the end of June 2009, visibility remains low. The activity ratio, under tight control, should exceed 91.8% over the second half-year as a whole. Because of the "embedded" decline in business over the first nine months of the year, and because of an activity ratio lower than that of 2008, the Alten Group's revenues should be down by 10% to 11% on a like-for-like consolidation basis in 2009, and slightly up in total as a result of acquisitions.
  • The deconsolidation of Idestyle Technologies, together with the increase of the activity rate will involve an improvement of Alten operating profitability on activity in the second half.
