Neuilly-sur-Seine, January 11th, 2010 - Bureau Veritas is pleased to announce three acquisitions in Brazil, China and France, totalling approximately €30 million of annual revenues in 2010:

Founded in 1995 and headquartered in São Paulo, Auto Reg is the leader in Brazil for vehicle insurance damage inspections, performing technical inspections and providing statistics to the largest insurance companies in Brazil. It has a large network of 26 offices and 620 staff across Brazil. It reported revenues of approximately €23 million in 2010.
Auto Reg's principals are experts in this market segment and have a longstanding experience with the largest Brazilian insurance companies. They will be part of Bureau Veritas' management team in Brazil and thereby ensure business continuity.
This acquisition is part of Bureau Veritas' strategic plan for Latin America and represents an important milestone in the development of technical services for the insurance market in Brazil, with a focus on the automotive business. Following this acquisition, Bureau Veritas' headcount in Brazil reaches 3,000 employees.
NS Technology provides analytical testing and certification services for electrical and electronic equipment to a large portfolio of local and international manufacturers, traders and purchasers. Its laboratory base in Dongguan (Guangdong province) is equipped with advanced and top-grade equipment, notably several electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) chambers. NS Technology has 150 employees and generated around €4 million in revenues in 2010.
This acquisition reinforces Bureau Veritas EMC footprint in Greater China and its position on the electronic segment. Following this acquisition, Bureau Veritas' headcount in China reaches 7,700 employees.
The nuclear division of Thémis-Ingénierie acquired by Bureau Veritas offers primarily risk management auditing services (waste management, transportation of dangerous substances, facilities dismantling operations, security of installations, safety studies). It generated about €2 million of revenues in 2010 and employs 17 engineers.
This acquisition is part of Bureau Veritas' growth initiative in the nuclear industry.
