Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, August 8, 2011 – Bureau Veritas is pleased to announce the acquisition of Civil-Aid Technoclinic Pty Ltd, an Indian company specialised in conformity assessment services of public and industrial infrastructure.
Founded in 1998, Civil-Aid offers a full range of quality assurance and technical control services, from design to construction and including design review, site inspection and testing of building materials. Based in Bangalore, Civil-Aid has a leadership position in southern India, where it operates two laboratories and on-site mobile testing capacities. The company has 235 employees and generated revenue of €3.4 million in 2010.
Bureau Veritas is already a leading player in systems certification, industry inspection and commodities testing in India. This first acquisition in the country rounds out the current portfolio of services and positions the Group in the booming infrastructure market. In addition, quality control of construction is increasingly required by private operators and public authorities.
The acquisition means Bureau Veritas now employs 3,550 staff in India, based in more than 50 locations.
