Aéroports de Paris August 2012 traffic figures

In August 2012, Aéroports de Paris passenger traffic increased by 1.3% compared to August 2011, with a total of 8.5 million passengers handled including 5.9 million at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (+0.3%) and 2.6 million at Paris-Orly (+3.7%).

  • International traffic (excluding Europe) increased by 2.8%. After falling by 11% in August 2011, Africa experienced a strong recovery (+8.2%) with good performances in the Maghreb due to the more favorable timing of Ramadan this year. The Asia-Pacific region continued its momentum with a growth of 5.5%, followed by Middle East at +2.4%. French Overseas Territories remained practically unchanged (+0.4%). Only two destinations were down: Latin America (-0.6%) and North America (-2.1%).
  • European traffic (excluding France) was up by 1.0%.
  • Traffic within France decreased slightly by 1.7%.
  • The number of connecting passengers was down by 2.5%. The connecting rate stood at 23.0%, down by 1.3 point.

Since the beginning of the year 2012, Aéroports de Paris passenger traffic has increased by 1.5% with a total of 60.1 million passengers handled. The number of connecting passengers was up 4.0%, resulting in a connecting rate of 23.5%, an increase of 0.5 point. Traffic from TAV Airports, which Aéroports de Paris owned a 38% stake, increased by 35.3% over the same period.
