Involuntary manslaughter case - Court of Appeal final decision (re-judgement-appeal)

The Ploiesti Court of Appeal ruled today its decision in the file where OMV Petrom SA was sent to trial. The accusation is referring to an incident, which occurred in 2015, near one of the company's wells located in Aricestii Rahtivani in Prahova County, where the victim was found dead.

The company was found guilty for committing the crime of involuntary manslaughter and was convicted to a punishment of a criminal fine amounting to RON 750,000 (250 days of fine, the equivalent of a day of fine being of RON 3,000). On the civil side, the company was obliged to pay moral damages in total amount of EUR 135,000 to the victim's family. The decision is final. The company will fully comply with the decision of the court.
