THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONTAINS INSIDE INFORMATION FOR THE PURPOSES OF ARTICLE 7 OF THE MARKET ABUSE REGULATION (EU) 596/2014.

Reference is made to the notice of redemption (the "Notice of Redemption") delivered by Anglo American Capital plc on September 30, 2020 to holders the (i) U.S.$500,000,000 4.125% Senior Notes due April 15, 2021 (the "April 2021 Notes") and (ii) U.S.$300,000,000 3.750% Senior Notes due April 10, 2022 (the "April 2022 Notes" and together with the April 2021 Notes, the "Notes").

The Issuer hereby informs holders of the April 2021 Notes that the Issuer intends to redeem $307,500,000 of the aggregate principal amount of the April 2021 Notes in accordance with the terms of the Notice of Redemption.

The April 2022 Notes will be redeemed in their entirety in accordance with the terms of the Notice of Redemption.

The remaining items in the Notice of Redemption remain unchanged.

Terms used but not defined herein shall have the meaning given to them in the notice of redemption. The Issuer has notified the holders pursuant to the terms of the Notes.
