Spire Healthcare Group plc (LSE: SPI), a leading UK independent hospital group, today announces Garry Watts has informed the Board of his desire to retire after nearly ten years as Chairman of the Group at its next AGM, or sooner if a replacement is in place.

A process to find a new non-executive Chairman is underway and further updates will be provided in due course.

Garry Watts commented: "It is with sadness that I will be retiring from the Board after ten years, during which time the business has evolved significantly to become one of the UK's leading independent hospital groups, delivering the highest levels of patient care. I am confident that Spire has a bright future ahead led by its strong management team and Board."
