Thermal Biomass: availability rates of thermal power plants remain high

Thermal Biomass business' consolidated revenues reached €83.7 million in the third quarter, up 1% to the same period in the prior year (€82.9 million), in spite of further decline in coal prices, which remain without impact on the Group's profitability (excluding inventory effects).

Thermal Biomass business put in an excellent operational performance during the quarter and has also benefited from the positive effects of the upward revision in tariffs from electricity contracts covering Albioma Le Moule (Guadeloupe), Albioma Bois-Rouge and Albioma Le Gol (both in Réunion), renegotiated with EDF during the first half of 2013.

Nine months to September 2013 Thermal Biomass business' revenues came to €246.6 million, in line with the figure for the same period in 2012.

The availability rate of the Group's thermal power plants reached 91.9% over the first nine months of 2013, slightly higher than the already remarkably high level of 91.7% recorded for the same period of 2012, thus underlining the Thermal Biomass business' high level of performance.

The nine months to September 2013 production of electricity for the Thermal Biomass business came to 2.5 TWh, similar to the same period in 2012.

Solar Energy still putting in a very strong performance

Revenues from the Group's Solar Energy division rose by 1%, to €11.4 million, in the third quarter of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012. The same good level of operational performance that the division has shown since the beginning of this year was thus in evidence again, thanks partly to excellent sunlight conditions in the Indian Ocean.

The nine months to September 2013 production of electricity for the Solar Energy business reached 72.8 GWh, largely unchanged from the same period in 2012.

Anaerobic Digestion: now two plants up and running

TIPER Méthanisation, the Group's first agricultural anaerobic digestion plant (with a generating capacity of 2 MW), opened in April and now feeds electricity to the grid.

In Saint-Varent (Deux-Sèvres district), the construction of Albioma's second plant, CAP'TER Méthanisation was completed. Power generation has been ramping up since October 2013. With a generating capacity of 500 kWh, CAP'TER Méthanisation will generate about 4 200 MWh of electricity and 2 500 MWh of thermal energy per year.

Earnings guidance maintained

The continued strong performance of the Group's operating divisions since the beginning of the financial year means that Albioma is able to maintain its objectives for 2013 and 2016 consolidated EBITDA and consolidated Group share net income (excluding Brazil and the Marie-Galante project).

Next on the agenda: release (pre-trading) of annual results for the 2013 financial year on March 5, 2014.
