PRESS RELEASE PARIS LA DÉFENSE, APRIL 1, 2014
Albioma has finalized its acquisition of the totality of shares in Rio Pardo Termoelétrica, a cogeneration plant situated in the São Paulo region in Brazil. This investment was announced on March 5, on the occasion of the Group's annual results for 2013.
This bagasse cogeneration plant, which has an installed capacity of 60 MW, was commissioned in 2009. Albioma's unique expertise should enable significant improvements in the energy efficiency of the existing structure. The Group will also have scope to build a 15 MW extension.
This operation represents the first stage in Albioma's development in Brazil, the Group's number one growth priority outside France, and should have a positive impact on both EBITDA and Group net income from 2014 on.
Next on the agenda: release (post-trading) of revenue figures for the first quarter of the 2014 financial year on April 29, 2014.
