Directorate Change - Chair Succession Update

On 30 October 2019, the Board of Severn Trent Plc announced that Christine Hodgson had been appointed as the next Chair of the Company and that she would succeed Andrew Duff in April 2020 following completion of her induction and his retirement from the Board.

Christine joined the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2020 and became a member of the Corporate Sustainability, Nominations and Remuneration Committees at that time.

Christine's detailed induction programme and thorough handover with Andrew Duff has been taking place over the last three months, this has now completed in line with the planned succession timetable. 

Accordingly, on 30 March 2020, Andrew Duff gave formal notice confirming that he would be retiring and formally stepping down from the Board on 31 March 2020.  The Board is pleased to announce that Christine will assume the role of Chair of the Board and Nominations Committee with effect from 1 April 2020.

Christine will also become Chair of Severn Trent Water Limited Board with effect from 1 April 2020.
