Saint-Denis, 7 August 2014 – EuropaCorp, the producer and distributor of feature films and one of the leading independent film studios in Europe, today announces its consolidated revenue (unaudited) for the first quarter of FY2014/2015 (April to June 2014).

Group revenue for Q1 of FY2014/2015 is €22.3 million, up by more than 80% (+€10 million) compared to the year-ago figure.
International Sales are €8.5 million and primarily correspond to the deliveries of Brick Mansions and The Homesman.
The revenue for the Cinemas, France segment of €1.9 million was mainly generated by the theatrical release of two English-language films: Brick Mansions and The Homesman. Q1 revenue also includes admissions for 3 Days To Kill and The Boy With The Cuckoo-Clock Heart since 1 April 2014.
Video, France revenue is €2 million and corresponds to the video and VOD releases of I Dit It Again, Angélique and The Marchers, as well as royalties from catalogue films (It Boy, Malavita and Taken 2, among others).
Television, France revenue was €2 million, as there were no significant first-window rights during the quarter.
The revenue for the TV Series segment is €3.6 million and primarily corresponds to on-going royalties from the series Taxi Brooklyn.
Subsidies generated revenue of €1.7 million.
The Events segment posted revenue of €0.4 million, most of which was generated by functions held at the Cité du Cinéma during the quarter.
Revenue for the Multiplexes segment totalled €1.2 million over Q1 2014/2015 and corresponds to sales by the first EuropaCorp Cinemas multiplex in Aéroville.
The revenue from Other Activities of €0.9 million was mainly generated by music publishing, brand content and post-production sales.
Lucy, the latest film written and directed by Luc Besson, starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman, was released in the USA on 25 July 2014. For its opening weekend in movie theatres, the film was the top US box office attraction, earning almost \$45 million. This is the second most successful opening weekend for a French film after Taken 2 (\$49 million).
Lucy's French release on 6 August 2014 was extremely successful; the film topped the French box office by a considerable margin on its opening day (351,000 admissions, i.e. a national market share of 43%).
In addition to Lucy, a major event for the Cinemas, France segment in Q2 of FY2014/2015 will be the release on 24 September 2014 of Saint Laurent, directed by Bertrand Bonello, starring Gaspard Ulliel and Léa Seydoux, which was warmly received at the latest Cannes Film Festival.
The third film in the Taken franchise, with Liam Neeson reprising his starring role as Bryan Mills, is in postproduction and the international release is scheduled for Q1 of 2015.
Shooting for Transporter Reboot started in June 2014. The film will be released in the USA by EuropaCorp USA (via RED) on 6 March 2015. Other English-language films will enter production in the next few months.
On 6 August 2014, shooting started for Bis, directed by Dominique Farrugia, starring Franck Dubosc and Kad Merad.
In the TV Series segment, FY2014/2015 will see the release of the third season of No Limit and continued international airings of the first season of Taxi Brooklyn.

EuropaCorp ranks among the top European film studios.
