Aéroports de Paris August 2014 traffic figures

In August 2014, Aéroports de Paris saw 9.3 million passengers; an increase of 5.2% on August 2013. 6.5 million passengers travelled through Paris-Charles de Gaulle (+6.2%) and 2.8 million through Paris-Orly (+2.9%).

In July and August 2014, traffic at Paris's airports totalled 18.4 million passengers versus 17.7 million over the same period last year. It should be noted that on Sunday 17 August 2014, Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport set an all-time record of 228,992 passengers for a single day.

  • International traffic (excluding Europe) was up by 4.1%, buoyed by growth in the following destinations: Asia-Pacific (+10.9%); Latin America (+7.8%); Africa (+4.2%); the Middle East (+3.0%) and North America (+1.7%). Only one destination is down: the French Overseas Territories (-1.0%);
  • European traffic (excluding France) rose sharply (+8.4%);
  • Traffic within France decreased by 0.7%;
  • The number of connecting passengers was up by 1.6%. The connecting rate stood at 22.8%, down by 0.6 points.

Since the beginning of 2014, Aéroports de Paris passenger traffic has seen growth of 4.1%, with a total of 63.2 million passengers. The number of connecting passengers is up by 2.9%. The connecting rate stands at 23.3%; i.e. a decline of 0.2 points.

Passenger traffic at TAV Airports, 38%-owned by Aéroports de Paris, increased by 22.5% in August 2014 and has risen by 14.2%since the beginning of the year(1) .

(1) Aéroports de Paris and TAV started to operate Zagreb Airport in December 2013 and TAV Airports started to operate Milas Bodrum Airport in August 2014. To be compliant with TAV Airports' presentations, the % change presented above does not take into account Zagreb and Milas Bodrum traffic figures for 2013. Taking into account Zagreb and Milas Bodrum traffic on a like-for-like basis for 2013, total TAV Airports passenger traffic would have risen by 9.7% in August, by 9.6% since the beginning of 2014 and by 9.9% over the last 12 months.

(2) TAV Airports started to operate Milas Bodrum Airport in August 2014. Like for like, traffic rose by 5.3% in August 2014, and has risen by 7.4% since the beginning of 2014 and by 6.8% over the last 12 months.

(3) Aéroports de Paris and TAV started to operate Zagreb Airport in December 2013. Like for like, traffic has risen by 3.8% since the beginning of 2014 and by 1.4% over the last 12 months.
