At the Paris Motor Show 2014 (October 4-19, 2014), RENAULT will present 'EOLAB,' a concept-car integrating new technologies aimed at reducing vehicle energy demand.

PARROT, a worldwide leader of wireless peripherals for Smartphones and tablets and a major player of incar connectivity, has been chosen to equip this experimental vehicle with SOCA, its innovative infotainment system.

With Parrot SOCA, Parrot offers a unique vision of the connected car via a scalable and flexible infotainment system running on Android 4.4.

With Parrot SOCA, the driver benefits from Android's easy-to-use and upgradable platform, as well as numerous services, including:

• Bluetooth hands-free telephony with vocal recognition
• Internet access via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/USB or modem 4G
• Sharing of multimedia content
• Analog and digital radio
• Mirroring of iOS or Android Smartphones
• Apps adapted to automotive environment:
• o Navigation GPS
• o Music
• o Driving assistance: parking, gas stations, etc.

The Parrot SOCA solution leads the evolution of the connected infotainment systems for safety, comfort and performance for the driver and passengers, as well as reliability and easy integration for car manufacturers. Parrot SOCA also can be connected to the CAN or Ethernet AVB networks of the vehicle, resulting in fewer cables, which in turn reduces the weight of the vehicle.
