The Board of Directors of Carrefour Group, which met today, has decided to appoint Philippe Houzé as Observer. He will attend the meetings of the Board of Directors in an advisory capacity.
His appointment as a member of the Board will be proposed to the General Meeting of Shareholders in 2015.
Philippe Houzé is Executive Chairman of the Galeries Lafayette group and Vice-President of Motier, the principal holding company of the Moulin family, which owns 100% of the Galeries Lafayette group.
A graduate of INSEAD, Philippe Houzé began his career at Monoprix in 1969, where he served as Chief Executive Officer (1982-1994) and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (1994-2012). He was Co-Chairman of Galeries Lafayette group from 1998 to 2004 before becoming Executive Chairman in 2005.
