VINCI awarded the bulk of the Ivry-Paris XIII waste recovery centre contract

  • A facility using state-of-the-art waste recovery technologies
  • A €513 million works design-built contract with a duration of about 12 years for VINCI companies pooling their expertise in synergy

Syctom, Europe's largest household waste treatment agency, which covers 84 municipalities in the Greater Paris area, has awarded the contract to build and operate the Ivry-Paris XIII waste recovery centre to the IP131 consortium led by SITA, a subsidiary of the SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT Group. Within the consortium, VINCI will be responsible for the bulk of the design-build contract.

The value of the contract for the VINCI companies is €513 million. The work will be carried out by VINCI Construction France subsidiaries VINCI Environnement and Chantiers Modernes Construction together with VINCI Energies. The work will be spread over a period of about 12 years, with the various modules commissioned as they are completed.

VINCI Environnement, a company specialising in the design-build construction of organic waste treatment and energy from waste facilities, will carry out the work relating to the mechanical-biological process, the water-steam cycle in the energy from waste unit and the on-site water treatment system and will install the series of stacks.

Chantiers Modernes Construction, part of a general contracting consortium, will be in charge of design-build construction of the buildings on a general contracting basis as well as civil engineering, main services and demolition of obsolete facilities.

VINCI Energies will handle some of the work required to design and implement the future facility's electrical, monitoring and control and fire protection systems.
