The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Drillisch AG: 9-Month Report 2003 EBITDA climbs 40 percent to 5.7 million euros; EBIT more than doubles to 2.9 million euros; annual net earnings increase from 215 thousand euros to 1.5 million euros (in a 9 month on 9 month comparison) Drillisch AG shows a positive development of results in all operative key figures in the first nine months of 2003 (Q1 to Q3 2003). With sales totalling 84 million euros the EBIT improved from 1.3 million euros (Q1 to Q3 2002) to 2.9 million euros in the first nine months of 2003. During this same period, the EBITDA increased by 40% from 4.1 million euros (Q1 to Q3 2002) to 5.7 million euros. Even in comparison to the previous quarters of 2003 Drillisch AG demonstrated an enormous momentum in earnings. The profit from ordinary activities increased from 730 thousand euros (Q1/03) and 985 thousand euros (Q2/03) to 1.3 million euros in third quarter 2003. The sequential increase in quarterly profit also continued in third quarter 2003. Annual net profit improved from 335 thousand euros (Q1/03) and 478 thousand euros (Q2/03) to 648 thousand euros in third quarter. This enhanced profitability is also reflected in the balance sheet. With 8.4 million euros in available cash, the equity ratio for the reporting period was just under 67 percent for an improvement of just about ten percentage points compared to its level at the close of the 2002 year.
