The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– In first quarter 2001, the Drillisch Group increased the number of its mobile- phone subscribers by more than 60 percent from 314,000 as of 31 March 2000 to 518,000 as of 31 March 2001. Sales revenues in this core business segment (not including wholesaling) rose from DM 59.5 to DM 62.9 million or 5.7 percent over the prior-year period. This increase was lesser in percent than the growth in the number of subscribers due to the past year’s drastic drop in per-minute prices. Total sales revenues amounted to DM 75.1 million for first quarter 2001. The EBITDA was DM 1.6 million. The result of ordinary activities, adjusted for goodwill amortization (DM 1 million), totaled minus DM 0.1 million. Expenditures for new sales channels, restructuring measures and the DM 0.7 million in costs for participating at the CeBIT, which were fully booked this period, burdened earnings for this first quarter of 2001. The group’s restructuring was completed with the sale of the broadband business.
