EBITDA of more than nine million Euro Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– EBITDA of more than nine million Euro telegate AG submits results for business year 2002. Munich, 27 February 2003 – In the fourth quarter 2002, telegate-group achieved an EBITDA-result of 3.8 million Euro, which is a record result in the company’s history (Q4 2001: -3 million Euro). For the whole business year 2002, telegate obtained an operating result of 9.4 million Euro (EBITDA). In the previous year, the company had to account for an EBITDA-loss of 17.8 million Euro. The DA- provider’s turn around can also be seen in its free cash flow: For the whole year 2002, telegate accounts a slightly negative cash flow of 3.6 million Euro after a minus of 29.6 million Euro in 2001. In the fourth quarter 2002 the cash flow was already positive and is supposed to increase intelligibly in the current business year 2003. In 2002, telegate could reduce its net debts from 58.1 million Euro to 27.8 million Euro. In the previous business year, the turnover of telegate-group decreased by nearly 11% to 115.6 million Euro. Main reasons are the toll-free Internet-DA in Germany and the restructuring of the US-business. The number of calls decreased from 150 million in 2001 to 119 million in 2002. Losses of operating activities could be reduced significantly: Adding up to minus 29.5 million Euro in 2001, the result after interest and taxes (EBIT) adds up to only minus 3.8 million Euro. But in 2002, there are one time goodwill amortizations for the US-business of 21.5 million Euro to be added to this result. This leads to a an overall EBIT of -25.2 million Euro (reference value 2001: -37,6 million Euro). end of ad-hoc-announcement (c)DGAP 27.02.2003 Issuer’s information/explanatory remarks concerning this ad-hoc-announcement: In 2003, telegate concentrates on a profitable growth. In Germany, the offer will be upgraded by new products in order to turn the 11880 telephone DA-service into a more attractive product. In the UK, telegate is already on its way to position the number 118866 successfully as the alternative to the ex-monopolist British Telecom. In August 2003, the current DA-number 192 will finally be shut down. All Brits then have to dial the new 118-numbers. In Spain, this final start will already take place in April 2003. Since two weeks, telegate offers its service also in Austria using the number 118800: The target for the first year is to reach ca. one million calls.
