STATEMENT OF OBJECTIONS BY THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL FOR COMPETITION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION

Suresnes, June 24, 2015: Recylex SA (Euronext Paris: FR0000120388-RX) and its subsidiaries purchasing scrap lead batteries have announced the issuance today of a statement of objections* by the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission.

This statement has been made in connection with an investigation into possible anti-competitive practices launched by the European Commission in 2012 and involving several European groups active in purchasing scrap batteries and other lead-bearing waste (see Recylex's press release dated October 2, 2012).

The Recylex group and its advisers are studying the contents of this confidential document to determine the implications and issue a response within the deadline set, i.e. during the second half of 2015. Receipt of such a statement does not prejudge the final outcome of the procedure.

* A statement of objections is an official preliminary stage in investigations by the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission as part of which the latter informs the relevant parties in writing of the charges against them. The recipient of such a statement may respond to it in writing. Issuance of a statement of objections does not prejudge the final outcome of the procedure, since the decision is reached after studying the responses provided by the recipient.
