Share Buyback Programme Update and Extension

4 April 2018

With reference to the Share Buyback Programme (the "Programme") announced on 21 August 2017 and subsequently extended, the Company announces that between 01 March 2018 and 31 March 2018, a total of 130,195 Ordinary $0.01 Shares ("Ordinary Shares") were purchased from non-UK based shareholders at a price of A$0.1619 per Ordinary Share. This brings the total purchased during the course of the Programme to 2,226,443 Ordinary Shares.

Ordinary Shares bought back in accordance with this Programme will be held in treasury to be cancelled.

To date, a total of 48.5% of the shareholders holding 53.3% of the shares eligible under the terms of the Programme have taken up the offer.  In order to afford the remaining shareholders the opportunity to still accept the offer, the Company is extending further the closing date to 30 June 2018.  Full details of the Programme may be accessed via the Company's website at www.sylvaniaplatinum.com. 

Following the above transaction, the Company's issued share capital is 291,133,661 Ordinary Shares, of which a total of 4,798,104 Ordinary Shares are held in Treasury.  Therefore, the total number of Ordinary Shares with voting rights in Sylvania is 286,335,557 Ordinary Shares.
