ACCELERATING THE DEPLOYMENT OF IOT INFRASTRUCTURES
Thorigné-Fouillard, France, 30 June 2016 – Kerlink (ALKLK - FR0013156007), a specialist in networks dedicated to connected objects, announced today the signature of a technology agreement with Semtech, a worldwide supplier of semiconductor products and founder of LoRa® technology.
Having worked in close collaboration for more than 3 years on the development and promotion of the LoRaWAN™ protocol around the world, Kerlink and Semtech today signed a technology agreement on Localisation without GPS. This technology is integrated into the latest generation of Kerlink's stations (iBTS line), with commercial deployment already underway.
Called LBS (Localisation Based Services) over LoRa®, this solution, offered by both Kerlink and Semtech, enables localisation of LoRa® radio transmitters without the use of GPS. Its core target covers tracking applications, radio frequency identification for logistics and traceability solutions, and the security of personnel working in difficult conditions. By foregoing the costs involved with the use of GPS networks, this solution represents a truly disruptive application that should further accelerate industrial groups' engagement with the Internet of Things, and more specifically, in favour of LoRa® technology.
With this agreement, Kerlink confirms its ability to extend its lead in the field of innovation by integrating breakthrough technology solutions to support the takeoff of the IoT market.

Kerlink solutions integrating this functionality are already being deployed in several pilot projects.
