Saipem si aggiudica un contratto EPCI offshore in Qatar del valore di circa 3,1 miliardi USD
Milano, 21 dicembre, 2025 – Saipem, in partnership con Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd. (COOEC), si è aggiudicata da QatarEnergy LNG un contratto EPCI offshore per il pacchetto COMP5 del progetto North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) Offshore Compression Complexes. Il valore complessivo del contratto è di circa 4 miliardi di dollari e la quota parte di Saipem ammonta a circa 3,1 miliardi USD.
Il progetto NFPS è parte della strategia di QatarEnergy LNG per mantenere e incrementare la capacità produttiva del North Field, il più grande giacimento di gas naturale "non associato" al mondo, situato al largo della costa nord-orientale del Qatar.
Il contratto assegnato a Saipem, dalla durata complessiva di circa 5 anni, prevede la progettazione, l'approvvigionamento, la fabbricazione e l'installazione di due impianti di compressione, ciascuno composto da una piattaforma di compressione, una piattaforma per gli alloggi, una piattaforma a supporto della flare per la combustione dei gas e i relativi ponti di interconnessione. Ciascun complesso avrà un peso complessivo di circa 68.000 tonnellate. Le operazioni di installazione offshore saranno condotte dalla nave da costruzione De He di Saipem indicativamente nel 2029 e 2030.
Questo nuovo contratto si aggiunge ai pacchetti EPCI COMP2 e COMP3, assegnati a Saipem e comunicati al mercato rispettivamente nell'ottobre 2022 e nel settembre 2024, attualmente in fase di esecuzione. L'assegnazione del pacchetto COMP5 consolida la collaborazione di Saipem con QatarEnergy LNG e rafforza la presenza della Società in Qatar quale partner per la realizzazione di progetti complessi su larga scala.

Saipem awarded an offshore EPCI contract in Qatar worth approximately 3,1 billion USD
Milan (Italy), December 21, 2025 – Saipem, in partnership with Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd. (COOEC), has been awarded an offshore EPCI contract by QatarEnergy LNG for the COMP5 package of the North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) Offshore Compression Complexes project. The overall value of the contract is approximately 4 billion USD and Saipem's share amounts to approximately 3,1 billion USD.
The NFPS project is part of QatarEnergy LNG's strategy of maintaining and increasing the production capacity of the North Field, the world's largest "non-associated" natural gas field, located off the north-eastern coast of Qatar.
The contract awarded to Saipem, with a total duration of approximately 5 years, comprises engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of two compression complexes, each including a compression platform, a living quarter platform, a flare platform supporting the gas combustion system, and the related interconnecting bridges. Each complex will have a total weight of about 68,000 tons. Offshore installation operations will be carried out by Saipem's De He construction vessel approximately in 2029 and 2030.
This new contract follows the EPCI COMP2 and COMP3 packages, awarded to Saipem and disclosed to the market in October 2022 and September 2024 respectively, which are currently under execution. The award of the COMP5 package consolidates Saipem's collaboration with QatarEnergy LNG and reinforces the company's presence in Qatar as a partner for the execution of complex large-scale projects.
