Asiamet Resources Limited ("ARS" or the "Company") reports that the Board of Directors has today instructed the Company's transfer agent, Computershare Investor Services (Bermuda) Limited, to transfer an aggregate of 3,053 common shares to a treasury account for the Company and then further to immediately cancel those shares.  Prior to the transfer and cancellation the Company held no treasury shares, with this position maintained subsequent to the cancellation. 

The 3,053 common shares are un-exchanged shares from historic name changes and share consolidations dating back from 1981 to 1994 held by legacy shareholders who have not exchanged their shares for shares of the Company. 

Prior to the cancellation there were 709,940,689 common shares outstanding and after the cancellation of 3,053 common shares there will be 709,937,636 common shares outstanding.
