Luc Besson and EuropaCorp win their lawsuit against Avalanche Productions
Saint-Denis, October 14 th 2016 – In its decision of October 12th 2016, the Commercial Court of Paris dismissed the company Avalanche Productions of all its requests and ordered it to pay 10,000 euros to EuropaCorp.
The Court confirmed in its judgment that Avalanche Productions cannot claim any right on the movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. EuropaCorp welcomes the Court decision and pursues with serenity the production of the movie, which is due out in July 2017.
Arnaud de Senilhes, EuropaCorp's counsel, said: "This decision is a great satisfaction for EuropaCorp because it is unambiguous and clears the company from any suspicion. Furthermore, this case reflects the all too frequent situation where some parties, driven by the lure of money, sue EuropaCorp without any legal basis. Our hope is that this decision restores serenity surrounding EuropaCorp."
