Seeing Machines' operator safety division announces DSS trial with Cliffs Natural Resources

Canberra, Australia, 25 October 2013:  Seeing Machines, (AIM: SEE), announces today that the operator safety division has received purchase orders from Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. ("Cliffs") to commence a trial of its Driver State System ("DSS") fatigue and distraction monitoring solution at their Koolyanobbing operations in the Yilgarn Region, Western Australia.

The technology will be installed into 6 road trains for a 90 day fatigue assessment trial which, once completed, could see a larger scale rollout across the fleet. The value of this deployment is over AUD$150,000. Cliffs has iron ore and coal mines in North America as well as the iron ore mining complex in Western Australia, and always operates under a framework of strong core values of which Safe Production plays a pivotal role.

Ken Kroeger, Seeing Machines' CEO, said:

"We are delighted to be working with Cliffs Natural Resources and launching another trial with such a great global company. There are not very many companies in the world with such impressive mine and transport logistics portfolios. We believe that the DSS technology is a great fit, as their 160 year business history is underpinned by core values that take safe production very seriously. Cliffs made their selection through a process that evaluated our computer vision based technology against competitive products that require the operator to always wear some form of sensor."
