MARKET UPDATE

The Board of Mineral & Financial notes that the £330,000 loan note it holds in Silvermere Energy plc ("Silvermere") became due for repayment at the end of June and is now in default.  The trading in Silvermere's shares remains suspended, pending clarification of its financial position.

Mineral & Financial has been engaged in active talks with Silvermere since mid-March regarding a potential resolution to Silvermere's financial difficulties, and talks remain ongoing.

A further announcement will be made in due course if and when any agreement is reached.
