U.S. patent case against Parrot dismissed

On May 12 2017, Drone Technologies Inc. ("Drone Tech") admitted that neither Parrot nor its customers infringe Drone Tech patents. The Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania confirmed and approved through a Consent Decree dated May 12, 2017 and filed on May 15.

Parrot is the prevailing party in the litigation which started in January 2014¹ with a complaint filed by Drone Tech. The complaint accused Parrot of indirect infringement of two Drone Tech patents by selling the AR.Drone and AR.Drone 2.0 products in the U.S., and by making available the FreeFlight app for remotely controlling them. On September 29th 2016, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit vacated the awards of damages and attorney fees against Parrot.

Parrot is satisfied with the outcome of these legal proceedings which give our U.S. customers the opportunity to keep on benefiting from our AR.Drone products range.
