Die SZ Testsysteme AG, Amerang bei Wasserburg, vermeldet den erfolgreichen Markteinstieg in Japan: Der Automobilhersteller Toyota orderte für rund 5 Mio. DM mehrere Testsysteme, die in der Forschung und Entwicklung sowie in der Produktion von Automotive-Bauelementen eingesetzt werden sollen. In der Fertigung testen die Geräte sowohl im Frontend (Waferscheibe) als auch im Backend (nach dem Verpacken) und übernehmen damit den kompletten Testdurchlauf der Bauelemente. Für das kommende Jahr plant Toyota bereits den Bezug weiterer Tester aus Amerang. Da die Markteintrittsbarrieren in Japan besonders hoch sind, bedeutet der jetzt akquirierte Großauftrag von Toyota den Durchbruch in einen komplett neuen Markt. Die SZ Testsysteme AG verbuchte im abgelaufenen Geschäftsjahr 1999/2000 (30.9.) mit 17,651 Mio. DM in Asien einen fünf Mal höheren Auftragseingang als im Vorjahreszeitraum (3,3 Mio. DM). Damit festigte das Unternehmen vor allem seine gute Marktposition in Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan und Singapur. SZ Testsysteme AG, Amerang near Wasserburg, has reported its successful entry into the Japanese market. The automaker Toyota ordered several test systems worth a total of about DM 5 million to use for research and development and in the production of automotive components. In production, the systems will be used both for front- end applications (wafer chips) and on the back end (post-packaging). In other words, they will cover the complete testing needs for semiconductor components. Toyota is already planning to purchase additional testers from Amerang in the coming year. Since the market entry barriers are especially high in Japan, the contract Toyota just awarded signifies the breakthrough to a completely new market. In the past business year (FYE September 30, 2000), SZ Testsysteme AG recorded DM 17,651 million in incoming orders in Asia, a figure that is five times higher than in 1998/99 (DM 3.3 million). The company strengthened its positions in the markets of Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore in particular.
