First-Quarter Earnings and Revenues Up Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Revenues for the first three months of the current financial year were up from the comparable year-ago period. Revenues came to EUR 286.5 million, up 2.5% from EUR 279.5 a year earlier. Earnings before interest and tax on income came to EUR 10.1 million, up from EUR 9.6 million for first-quarter 2002. This represents an EBIT margin of 3.5 % for the quarter as compared with 3.4 % for the previous year. As a result, the increase in earnings was disproportionately high as compared with the increase in revenues. Segmental Information: Comfort Systems: Revenues EUR 135.5 million (+3.4 %), EBIT EUR 3.8 million (-9.5 %) of which Comfort Systems Automotive: Revenues EUR 113.8 million (+2.5 %) of which Comfort Systems Traffic Technology: Revenues EUR 21.7 million (+8.5 %). Fluid Handling: Revenues EUR 85.3 million (+3.9 %), EBIT EUR 7.9 million (-1.3 %) of which Fluid Handling Automotive: Revenues EUR 58.3 million (+11.9 %) of which Fluid Handling Industry: Revenues EUR 27.0 million (-10.0 %). Conveyor Belt Systems: Revenues EUR 31.9 million (-6.7 %), EBIT EUR 1.5 million (-31.8 %). Other Business Units: Revenues EUR 33.8 million (+5.0 %). EBIT EUR -0.5 million Outlook: Four months into the current business year, Phoenix AG expects to achieve its revenue target of EUR 1,140 million for the year 2003.
