Description
United States Brent Oil Fund, LP (BNO) is an exchange-traded product (ETP) structured as a limited partnership. It is designed to provide investors with a vehicle to track the daily price movements of Brent crude oil. The fund's investment objective is for the daily percentage changes in its net asset value (NAV) to reflect the daily percentage changes in the spot price of Brent crude oil. To achieve this, BNO invests primarily in near-month futures contracts for Brent crude oil traded on the ICE Futures Exchange. These investments are collateralized by cash and short-term U.S. government obligations. BNO issues shares that trade on the NYSE Arca, offering a convenient way for investors to gain exposure to a key global oil benchmark without trading directly in the futures market. The fund commenced operations on June 2, 2010.
