Description
United States 12 Month Oil Fund, LP (USL) is an exchange-traded security designed to track the daily price movements of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) light, sweet crude oil. The fund's investment objective is for the daily percentage changes in its net asset value (NAV) to reflect the daily percentage changes in the price of WTI crude oil. This is measured by the daily changes in the average price of its benchmark futures contracts. The benchmark consists of the near-month futures contract for light, sweet crude oil and the contracts for the following 11 months, creating a portfolio of 12 consecutive months of futures contracts, with each month being equally weighted. The fund invests primarily in these crude oil futures contracts and may also hold other oil-related derivatives. Its investments are collateralized by cash, cash equivalents, and short-term U.S. government obligations.
