Description
Cross Timbers Royalty Trust is an express trust established to collect and distribute monthly net profits income to its unitholders. The Trust's assets consist of net profits interests in producing and nonproducing royalty and overriding royalty interests in oil and natural gas properties. These interests, conveyed by XTO Energy Inc., include 90% net profits interests in certain properties and 75% in others. The Trust's primary function is to passively hold these assets and distribute the resulting income, calculated from the net proceeds of the underlying properties, to holders of its units of beneficial interest. Formed in 1992, the Trust provides investors with a vehicle for receiving monthly distributions tied to the performance of its energy interests.
