Čateks is one of the largest textile companies in the region and one of the oldest in the south-east Europe. The beginnings of this company date back to 1874 when the Neumann family founded the first major canvas dye-works.
Thanks to the technological development and innovation throughout history, Čateks is today comprised of three production centres: Textile, which consists of a weaving mill and finishing of fabric, Polytexwhich consists of coating and laminatingand Ready-made garments production centre. Such a structure forms vertical integration and allows a better control of each step in the production and better technological innovation by combining the strength of engineers of all production centres.
With this kind of organisation, Čateks marketed itself as a manufacturer of technicalfabrics and special purpose and added value materials.
