Carbios is a Green Chemistry company that designs and develops innovative processes to rethink the life cycle of plastics.

By combining enzymology and plastics processing, an innovative industrial approach, Carbios is opening up new ecological and sustainable avenues for the treatment of plastic waste and the production of biopolymers.

A pioneer in the development of enzymatic processes applied to plastics, the Company is developing three technologies aimed at

- create 100% biodegradable plastics with a controlled lifespan adapted to their use
- infinitely recycle plastic waste by enzymatic means
- Open up new and more competitive avenues for the production of biopolymers

In September 2016, the Company initiated the industrial development of its first biodegradation technologies with the operational start of the Carbiolice joint venture, created with Limagrain Céréales Ingrédients and the SPI "Sociétés de Projets Industriels" fund operated by Bpifrance.
