August 2000 – Die telegate AG, München, hat im ersten Halbjahr 2000 ihre dynamische Entwicklung fortgesetzt: Der Umsatz stieg um 80 Prozent auf 122 Millionen Mark (Vorjahreszeitraum: 67,8 Millionen Mark). Trotz hoher Investitionen in den Aufbau weiterer Call Center im In- und Ausland kann telegate für die ersten sechs Monate wiederum ein positives Ergebnis vor Steuern, Zinsen und Abschreibungen (EBITDA) in Höhe von 0,5 Millionen Mark vorweisen. Das Bruttoergebnis vom Umsatz beträgt 47,4 Millionen Mark und liegt damit fast 100 Prozent über dem Ergebnis im ersten Halbjahr 1999 (24,4 Millionen Mark). Das Halbjahresergebnis beläuft sich auf minus 4,5 Millionen Mark (erstes Halbjahr 1999: minus 2,3 Millionen Mark). Das noch im ersten Halbjahr 1999 für das negative Ergebnis verantwortliche Kerngeschäft telefonische Serviceleistungen in Deutschland schrieb in den ersten sechs Monaten 2000 deutlich schwarze Zahlen. Das vergleichsweise geringe Defizit im ersten Halbjahr 2000 resultiert ausschließlich aus den Aufbaukosten für den Geschäftsbereich Informationsdienste Internet und die internationalen Niederlassungen in Italien, Spanien, Großbritannien und den USA. Die telegate AG hat auch in den ersten Halbjahr 2000 ihre Position im deutschen Auskunftsmarkt weiter ausgebaut: Das Anrufvolumen stieg gegenüber dem Vorjahr um 40 Prozent auf 57,9 Millionen Anrufe (erstes Halbjahr 1999: 41,3 Millionen Anrufe). In den ersten sechs Monaten wurden drei neue Call Center an den Standorten Güstrow, Schwedt und Stralsund eröffnet. Meilensteine im zweiten Quartal: der Start des operativen Geschäftes in Italien, Spanien und den USA sowie der weitere Ausbau des Internet-Service-Portals 11880.com. Um der steigenden Nachfrage nach Auskunftsdienstleistungen gerecht zu werden, wird telegate in den kommenden Monaten das zehnte und elfte Call Center in Deutschland in Betrieb nehmen. Despite higher investments in the new call centers in and outside Germany, telegate can once again book a positive result before taxes, interest and depreciation (EBITDA) of DM 0.5 million for the first six months of the current business year. The gross operating result from revenues amounted to DM 47.4 million, i.e., almost 100 percent up on the result of the first half of 1999 (DM 24.4 million). The result of the first half of 2000 is minus DM 4.5 million (first half of 1999: minus DM 2.3 million). However, the core business of telephone services in Germany, which was responsible for the negative result in the first half of 1999, moved clearly into the black in the first six months of 2000. The comparatively small deficit in the first half of 2000 was solely the result of the setting-up costs for the Internet Information Services Business Unit and the international subsidiaries in Italy, Spain, Great Britain and the USA. During the first half of this year, telegate AG continued to expand its position in the German directory-inquiries market: the number of calls received rose 40 percent to 57.9 million (first half of 1999: 41.3 million calls). Three new call centers – in Güstrow, Schwedt and Stralsund – were opened during the first six months. Milestones in the second quarter: the start of business in Italy, Spain and the USA and further expansion of the 11880.com internet service portal. To cope with the growing demand for directory-inquiries services, telegate will open its tenth and eleventh call centres in Germany in the coming months. On the international plane, the Munich-based company will intensify its activities in conjunction with its Italian partner SEAT Pagine Gialle and continue the telegate success story in other countries.
