Timotheus Höttges, born in 1962, citizenship German, is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Deutsche Telekom AG since January 2014.
From 2009 until his appointment as CEO, he has been member of the Group Board of Management responsible for Finance and Controlling.
From 2006 to 2009 he was member of the Board of Management responsible for the T-Home unit. In this position, he was in charge of fixed-network and broadband business, as well as integrated sales and service in Germany. Under his leadership, T-Home became the market leader in terms of new DSL customers and developed its Internet TV service, Entertain, into a mass-market product while at the same time stabilizing its profitability.
After successfully implementing various cost-cutting programs at T-Home and in the European mobile communications subsidiaries, Mr. Höttges became responsible for the Group-wide Save for Service efficiency enhancement program.
On January 1, 2018, Adel Al-Saleh, born in 1963, citizenship American/British, started his role as Member of the Board of Management at Deutsche Telekom AG and CEO of T-Systems.
The first 19 years of his professional life at IBM Al-Saleh was holding a variety of senior leadership roles. His last role at IBM was Vice President and General Manager, Sales and Industries, IBM Northeast Europe Integrated Operating Team, responsible for IBM sales across all industries and products.
Al-Saleh spent four years at IMS Health, world leading healthcare informatics company, as President of EMEA and President of the North America.
In December 2011 Al-Saleh joined Northgate as Chief Executive Officer of Northgate Information Solutions (NIS) Group until he took over his new responsibilities at Deutsche Telekom.
Birgit Bohle, born 1973, citizenship German, took up the post of Chief Human Resources Officer and Labor Director of Deutsche Telekom AG effective January 1, 2019. From January 1, 2020, she is also responsible for legal affairs.
Bohle began her professional career in 1992 with an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at chemicals giant BASF. She then studied Economics at the Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar near Koblenz, at ESC Nice, and at the University of Texas at Austin, and specialized in marketing, controlling, and finance. After completing her studies, she initially worked for Bertelsmann AG before joining the McKinsey group in Frankfurt am Main in the year 2000. She worked for a large number of clients and was Associate Principal in the European Transport & Logistics management team.
Dr. Christian P. Illek, born in 1964 in Düsseldorf, citizenship German, has taken up the post of Chief Finance Officer at Deutsche Telekom on January 1, 2019. He has been a member of Deutsche Telekom's Board of Management since April 2015 and was responsible for Human Resources.
Dr. Illek's previous position was Chairman of the Management Board at Microsoft Germany, a role in which he shaped flexible working time models for the company by getting rid of the strict obligation to work from the office. From April 2010 to September 2012, he was Director of Marketing at Telekom Deutschland GmbH. In this position he was responsible for all marketing activities for both consumers and business customers in Germany. He was also in charge of the Wholesale Center and the Value-Added Services Center, as well as international product development for Deutsche Telekom's fixed-network, IPTV, convergent and business customer portfolio.
Thorsten Langheim, born in 1966, citizenship German, joined the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom Group on January 1, 2019, where he is responsible for the “USA and Group Development" board department. Thorsten Langheim is responsible for Deutsche Telekom’s U.S. business as well as Corporate Development, Portfolio Strategy and Group Mergers & Acquisitions activities. This includes overseeing Deutsche Telekom’s 12 percent stake in BT as well as the management of the Deutsche Telekom subsidiaries T-Mobile Netherlands and Deutsche Funkturm. Moreover, Mr. Langheim is Chairman and Co-founder of Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners, the venture capital and private equity activities of Deutsche Telekom.
Thorsten Langheim had already been responsible for the majority of the functions of his board department in his previous role as Executive Vice President Group Development at Deutsche Telekom.
Dominique Leroy, born in 1964, citizenship Belgian, joined the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom Group on November 1, 2020.
Dominique Leroy has over 30 years of experience in the consumer goods and telecommunication sector. She started her career at Unilever where her last position was Managing Director for Belgium and Luxembourg. In 2011 she joined Proximus where she quickly became Head of the Consumer Market and held the position of CEO from 2014 till 2019. During this time she managed to turn around the company with a continuous growth phase and a strong customer experience focus. Over the last year, she was Advisor to Bain & Company.
Claudia Nemat, born in 1968, citizenship German, has been a member of Deutsche Telekom‘s Management Board since 2011. Until end of 2016 she led the European business. Since January 2017 she has been responsible for the Board area „Technology and Innovation“, which includes networks, IT, products, as well as information and cyber security.
Before joining Deutsche Telekom AG, Claudia Nemat was Senior Partner („Director“) at McKinsey&Company, working for the company for more than 17 years. She co-led McKinsey‘s global Technology Sector and had a number of interim management roles with global IT clients, ensuring desaster recovery of large IT projects, and acting as interim CEO.
