Board Changes

Westar Resources Limited (ASX: WSR ) ( Westar or the Company ) wishes to announce that Mr Simon Eley and Mr Chris Newman have stepped down from their roles as Non-Executive Chairman and Non-Executive Director, with immediate effect. Mr Eley will focus on his role at M3 Mining Limited and Mr Newman will continue to pursue other consulting opportunities.

Mr Eddie King and Mr Ashley Hood have been appointed as Non-Executive Directors, with Mr King assuming the executive duty until a CEO is found.

Mr King holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Systems) from The University of Western Australia. Mr King is an experienced director of publicly listed companies where he specialises in the technical and financial analysis of resource projects for investment and acquisition. Mr King is also a director of CPS Capital Group, one of Australia’s most active stockbroking and corporate advisory firms specialising in small to medium high growth companies. Mr King currently serves on the Board of Bindi Metals Ltd (ASX: BIM), Eastern Resources Ltd (ASX: EFE), Great Northern Minerals Ltd (ASX: GNM), M3 Mining Ltd (ASX: M3M), Ragnar Metals Ltd (ASX: RAG), Rubix Resources Ltd (ASX: RB6) and QPM Energy Ltd (ASX: QPM).

Mr Hood has more than eighteen (18) years’ experience in the mining industry, working in mine and exploration operations for junior and major mining companies based in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. Ashley has broad senior management experience and has worked in and managed field exploration and geological teams on some of Australia’s major JORC resources. He has extensive ASX experience and held a number of Executive and non-executive positions and is currently an executive at TechGen Metals Ltd (ASX: TG1).

He specialises in project and people management, native title negotiations, project due diligence, acquisitions and has a portfolio of family held mineral and precious metals projects which are flagship assets in a number of ASX listed companies today.
