Competition Authority grants approval to TransAtlantic
As announced earlier in a press release on March 31, 2011, TransAtlantic has acquired all the shares in the shipping and logistics company Österströms International AB. The transaction was conditional upon approval from the Competition Authority, which has been granted.
"I am pleased that we received a positive response from the Competition Authority. We can now commence work to integrate the companies and build one of Sweden's largest shipping companies, with a fleet totaling 54 vessels. The objective of the acquisition is to provide better and more efficient services for our customers in Europe through door-todoor solutions, and to combine our Bulk, RoRo and Container transports," says Rolf Skaarberg, President of Rederi AB TransAtlantic.
