Ventia awarded 10-year water and sewerage contract

Ventia Services Group Ltd (Ventia) today announced it had been awarded a 10-year contract to provide asset lifecycle delivery services to the City of Gold Coast’s water and sewerage networks.

The contract commences in August 2022 and is expected to generate revenue to Ventia of approximately $250 million.

The contract will be delivered by Gold Coast Infrastructure Solutions, a 50:50 unincorporated joint venture between Ventia and Downer.

Gold Coast Infrastructure Solutions will deliver water supply and sewerage services to the City of Gold Coast, Australia’s second largest Local Government Area. The scope of works under the contract includes planned and reactive repairs and maintenance, refurbishment and renewals programs, and capital works related to the City of Gold Coast’s water and sewerage network assets and facilities.

Dean Banks, Ventia’s Group Chief Executive Officer said the new contract joins a stable of contracts that Ventia holds with water utilities around Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking forward to tapping into the experience and expertise across our business to manage, maintain and enhance the city’s water and sewerage networks for the benefit of the Gold Coast community.

“The collaborative contracting model established will enable the City of Gold Coast to leverage the expertise of industry leaders to improve performance across the water network, providing for the sustainability of the growing Gold Coast community”.

This contract award is also a win for local businesses in the Gold Coast and Southeast Queensland, with Gold Coast Infrastructure Solutions committing to local spend targets that will see almost all subcontracted services procured locally.
