On June 17, 2009, U.S. Bancorp announced that it had redeemed the $6.6 billion of preferred stock issued to the U.S. Department of the Treasury under the Capital Purchase Program of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. A press release further discussing the redemption is attached to this report as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
