Item 8.01. Other Events.

On March 30, 2016, State Street Corporation announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire GE Asset Management, a leading asset manager, from General Electric Company in a cash transaction with a purchase price of $435 million, subject to adjustments, with up to an additional $50 million tied to incremental opportunities with GE. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
