Pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.14(2), Standard Chartered PLC (the "Company") announces that Ms Val Gooding CBE, who is an independent non-executive director of the Company, will be appointed as a non-executive director and Chairman of the Board of Premier Farnell plc with effect from 15 June 2011. Ms Gooding will stand down from the Board of J Sainsbury plc at the company's Annual General Meeting in July to give her the time to devote to the Chairmanship of Premier Farnell.
