St Barbara Limited
Strong drilling results at Tower Hill continue
Highlights
-
New Tower Hill intersections include 50m @ 3.7g/t from 225m and 33m @ 4.2g/t from 205m
-
Drilling success at Nevoria and Bronco East, Southern Cross
Tower Hill, Leonora
Further strong intersections at Tower Hill have been achieved including 50m @ 3.7g/t from 225m, 33m @ 4.2g/t from 205m and 10m @ 10.7g/t from 325 metres. Refer Figures 1, 2 and 3 and Table 1. Mineralisation remains open‐ended at depth and along strike.
Tower Hill is located 2km from the Gwalia plant at Leonora, which is currently being refurbished for recommencement of gold production from Gwalia in the September Quarter 2007.
All St Barbara drill holes to date at Tower Hill have intersected significant gold mineralisation.
Intense drilling activity continues with 4 rigs on site.
Nevoria, Southern Cross
Drilling at Nevoria has intersected further high grade mineralisation of Banded Iron Formation units in three steeply‐dipping horizons. High grade intercepts include 14m @ 6.1g/t from 34m, 6.8m @ 10.9g/t from 231m and 5m @ 14.4g/t from 244m. Refer Table 2, Figures 4 and 5.
Nevoria is located 10 km south east of the Marvel Loch plant and has a dedicated haul road to Marvel Loch. Open pit mining previously occurred at Nevoria over a strike length of 1km. Refer Figure 6.
These results are expected to extend the high grade reserves identified to date. Drilling is continuing.
Bronco East, Southern Cross
Recent drilling at Bronco East has intersected significant mineralization including 3m @ 24.4 g/t from a shallow depth of 23m, 19m @ 3.5 g/t and 30m @ 1.9g/t; both from surface. Refer Table 3 and Figure 7.
Bronco East is adjacent to Bronco at GVG, Southern Cross. The Company is open pit mining at Hercules and GVG; both 12 km south of the Marvel Loch plant. GVG is connected to Marvel Loch by a dedicated haul road. Refer Figures 8 and 9.
The mineralisation at Bronco East lies beneath a gold enriched laterite blanket, which extends for at least 400m along strike. Drilling is continuing.
The objective of the current drilling at Nevoria and Bronco East is to identify near surface mineralisation to complement the existing Marvel Loch Underground and open pit production and reserves, and to further extend the mine life of Southern Cross Operations.
