Drilling program commences at Crest Minerals' flagship

gold project in W.A.'s Eastern Goldfields

Highlights

  • Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling has commenced this week at Crest's Majestic North Gold Project in W.A to follow up impressive Aircore (AC) results including 11 meters (m) at 1.495 g/t, including a 2m intersection at 6.56 g/t.
  • 24-hole RC drilling schedule involves each hole drilled to a depth of about 150m, for a total of 3600m, with about 100 metres drilled into bedrock or fresh rock from a depth of approximately 50m.
  • Program to include nine holes in a supergene zone on the western side of the Project and 12 holes in the central and 3 holes in the central west region of the tenement area.
  • RC program is designed to explore the potential for gold mineralisation in fresh rock as a follow up to anomalism established in predominately weathered rock from 268 AC holes for a total of 12,699 metres drilled since July 2012.
  • Gold anomalism and geophysical interpretation has identified three priority target areas identified during Crest's two recent AC drilling programs.

Gold exploration company, Crest Minerals Limited (ASX: CTT), today announced the commencement this week of a Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at its flagship Majestic North Gold Project in Western Australia's prolific Eastern Goldfields.

This follows impressive results from its two Aircore (AC) drill programs completed since July this year (Figure 1).

Gold anomalism from the AC drilling programs has assisted the Company target mineralisation with the Reverse Circulation (RC) 24-hole drill program (Figure 2) – totaling about 3600m - in three priority target areas, including a highly prospective supergene zone on the western side of the Project (Figures 3 & 4).

The Mt Monger region of Western Australia, which already hosts numerous gold discoveries including Integra Mining Limited's (ASX: IGR) Majestic and Imperial discoveries immediately south of Crest's tenements, provides the Company with regional data which has significantly assisted the planning of its exploration programs to date.

"Both our AC drilling programs returned impressive anomalous gold results, and we have multiple targets for this current RC program", Crest Minerals Managing Director, Mr Angus Middleton, said today (Figure 5).

"We are confident of mineralisation in a supergene on the western side of our Project, as well as in the corridors of anomalism in the central part of the lease," he said.

Best resample's from plus 0.1g/t composites from Phase One AC drilling are tabled below:

  • o 1 metre at 2.20 g/t from 33m in hole MN034
  • o 1 metre at 1.64 g/t from 48m in hole MN001
  • o 1 metre at 1.365 g/t from 49m in hole MN035
  • o 1 metre at 1.035 g/t from 50m in hole MN021

Best intercepts from Phase Two AC drilling are tabled below:

  • o 9 metres at 0.383 g/t including 1m at 0.732 g/t End of Hole (EOH) and 4m at 0.602 g/t
  • o 4 metres at 0.794 g/t including 2m at 1.495 g/t EOH
  • o 11 metres at 1.495 g/t including 2m at 6.56 g/t EOH

Next Steps

Crests intends completing the following activities at Majestic North in the next three months:

  • o Interpretation of results from the current RC drill program is scheduled for early January.
  • o A follow up RC program will be scheduled once results are received for the RC drilling currently underway.
  • o Original western supergene zone will be in-filled further and extended to the north in an AC drill program planned for February.
